Mark Zuckerberg Changed his Facebook Civil Status: Married to Priscilla Chan

It was a quite busy and brilliant week for the most popular social networking Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg – from his birthday and his girlfriend graduation, to initial public offering with NASDAQ ticker symbol “FB,” to wedding day.

Just a day right after the historic Facebook stock went to IPO, Zuckerberg on Saturday ties-a-knot with his 27-year-old long time girlfriend – Priscilla Chan. Facebook founder gave his bride a wedding ring he had designed with a very simple yet elegant ruby to end an incredibly historic week Mark Zuckerberg life.

The couple married at the groom’s place in Palo Alto, California in front of less than hundred astounded guests who thought they would supposedly be attending a post-party celebration for Chan’s graduation from medical school. On Monday, Mark turned 28th and at the same day Priscilla graduated from the University of California in San Francisco School of Medicine with a specialization in pediatrics. Then on Friday, Zuckerberg took his social network site in to public offering, and considered as one of the most anticipated IPOs in Silicon Valley history.

The eventful week at Facebook company timing was hugely a coincidence, the wedding had been planned for months ago and the couple was waiting for the bride to finish med school, but the date of the initial public offering was a “moving target,” source said. Attendees, including Facebook’s COO (chief operating officer) Sheryl Sandberg, has been advised after they arrived at the place that they were not mere party guests but a wedding guests rather.

The newly wed groom ditches his trademark hoodie sweatshirt that paired with sneakers, Zuckerberg wore a dark blue suit and tie with a white shirt for the wedding ceremony, while Chan dressed a traditional white wedding gown with veil and lace.

Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan met at the Harvard University, where he founded today’s most populous social network site Facebook in a dorm room in 2004, and have been together for nearly a decade or more than nine years to be exact. Today, Chan’s Facebook profile status now lists her as married to the CEO and founder, said she is a native of Braintree, Massachusetts, attended high school in nearby Quincy, graduated Harvard in 2007 and finished her college at the University of California in San Francisco School of Medicine.
