The Mobile Communication division of the Japanese tech giant Sony has just unveiled two new Android-powered smartphones, the Xperia Acros S, and the sporty Xperia Go which will be known as Xperia advance in the United States. These two cellular handset seem to be the “tough & sporty” iteration versions of the Xperia S and the Xperia Active.
The Xperia Acro S sports a scratch-resistant, mineral glass display with wet finger tracking. It has also passed the IP55 and IP57 Ratings for dust and water resistance. It will be having a 4.3-inch 720p High Definition Reality Display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 342ppi and the company has injected the Mobile BRAVIA Engine on it. On its under-hood, the handsets will be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon dual core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, Adreno 220 GPU, 1GB RAM, 16GB of on-board storage with microSD support of up to 32GB external storage.
As for connectivity, it also comes with standard essential features like WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 2.1 w/ EDR, NFC support, and GPS w/ aGPS support, GLONASS. Multimedia components wise, it is a PlayStation™ Certified, has FM Radio tuner, 12MP autofocus rear shooter with LED flash which is capable of recording 1080p full HD video, while its 1.3 front-facing camera has the ability to shoot 720p HD video, HDMI port and runs the latest Android 4.0 codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Sony Xperia Go is better known as the Xperia Active successor, which s got the highest level of dust and water resistance in a smartphone – IP67 Rating. The Xperia Go/Advance has 1.0GHz dual-core processor topped with 512MB RAM, a 3.5? Reality Display with a 480×320 resolution, Mobile BRAVIA Engine, an 8GB internal storage with external storage support of up to 32GB via microSD, 5MP rear camera, LED flash, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, although it is upgradeable to Android 4.0 ICS. It will also have the same connectivity features as to the Acro S exept the NFC chip.
The Sony Xperia Acro S will be shipped Li-Ion 1910mAH battery, while the Xperia Go/Advace will have a Li-IOn 1305mAh battery. The Sony Xperia Acro S and Go/Advance will be hitting the market in 3rd quarter of this year.
